Implementation programs

The team continually reflected on how to go beyond one-way resource giving and instead foster mutual learning with developing countries. This led to three focus areas: educational equality, cultural exchange, and cross-border cooperation.
Our actions follow three themes—Buku, Moyo, and Limodzi—meaning books, life, and cooperation in Chichewa.

Books and Reading

English Reading Workshop 2.0

The reading workshop has run for two years, with local volunteers holding biweekly sessions to build students’ reading habits and skills.

On-campus library and reading projects

The abandoned library was redesigned into a shared reading space for primary school students through a user-centered approach.

Cross-cultural communication series

Through a school club in Taiwan, college students explore African culture and cross-border education, and visit Malawi during summer to serve and experience local life firsthand.

Taiwan-Malawi Primary School Pen-Pal Projects

In partnership with local NGOs in Yilan, we connect primary school students in Taiwan and Malawi as pen pals to share their lives through letters and online chats.

Story and picture books projects

Through the guidance of team activities, Malawi primary school students can use brushes and paints to tell their own stories and share their daily lives.

Collaboration and Partneships

Field research and forum

We will continue to interact and collaborate with stakeholders through interviews and forums to gather local needs.

Digital skills training projects

Improve the information capabilities of Malawi team members and volunteers to accelerate cross-border collaboration.

Curation and Fundraising

Through curating the exhibition, we advocate the issue of transnational education to the public and conduct crowdfunding in Japan.
